Development Hockey
MYHA’s Development Program is designed for children who are new to hockey and have completed Learn to Skate. The program teaches the fundamentals of hockey in a fun, creative environment where players can learn and develop at their own pace. Throughout the season, players will also have the opportunity to participate in games against other teams in the Merrimack Valley.
For the 2026 season, MYHA has added an optional Weekday Practice Add-on Program for Development players. Participants can register for 15 additional practice sessions, held once a week at 6:00 p.m. from December through March. These extra sessions provide players with more ice time to build skills and confidence.
Ages
The MYHA Development Program is open to children ages 5 to 10 who have completed Learn to Skate.
Tuition
Weekends only - $375
Weekends & weekdays - $650
When
The MYHA Development Program runs for 20 weeks, from October through March.
Games are typically played on Saturdays or Sundays from November through February.
The optional Weekday Practice Add-on Program includes 15 additional sessions, held once a week from December through March. This schedule is dependent on the high school game schedule, so weekdays may vary week to week.
Practices
Development Program practices for all participants are held on Saturday mornings from 9:40 a.m to 10:40 a.m.
Players enrolled in the optional Weekday Practice Add-on Program will also attend one additional practice each week from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
All practices will be held at Methuen High School.
Games
Games are held on Saturdays or Sundays from November through February.
Games will be held at rinks across the Merrimack Valley.

Jerseys
Jerseys and socks will be provided to all registered skaters at the start of the season.
2026 - 2027

The 20-week program begins October 17th and is held on Saturdays at 9:40 a.m. at the Methuen High School Ice Rink.
Development Program participants have the option to enroll in an additional 15 on-ice practice sessions. These optional practices are held once a week on a weekday at 6:00 p.m. from December through March.
A valid 2026–27 USA Hockey membership number is required to complete your skater's registration. If you do not already have a membership, you can register by clicking the USA Hockey registration link provided in the registration section. Your USA Hockey membership is valid for the entire 2026–27 season.
Register
